Service Fees

The payment of fees for the services will be as stated above. Kindly note - you have been booked as freelance service provider and you are responsible for paying your National Insurance and Tax to HMRC, we have no responsibility for this.


According to our practice payment will be settled within 7 working days after assignment and receipt of your invoice/job

details via transfer to your bank account.


Individual fee arrangements should be strictly confidential and are not to be discussed with other interpreters/ any person at the venue at any time.


The above amount is inclusive of VAT where applicable. Interpreters should be aware that the total value of the Invoice /Bill to be submitted to UK Legal Services Translation must match exact value of the assignment as offered.


Additional fees

Client shall reimburse Interpreter for additional hours of work that are not included in the description of this contract under Services Fees.

Terms & Conditions - Interpreters

National Translators Interpreters Service is the trading name of UK Legal Services Translation.


Repeat Bookings

Interpreters shall advise the Booking Client to contact UK Legal Services Translation / National Translators Interpreters

Services directly if they wish to make further bookings. Interpreters under no circumstances make further bookings with the

Booking Client themselves.


Cancellation

If, for any reason whatsoever, the Booking Client cancels or withdraws any portion or all of the booking as described in the details above within 24 hours of schedule appointment, then cancellation charges may apply in some circumstances. UK Legal Services Translation / National Translators Interpreters Services will advise the interpreter accordingly. The following condition may also apply.

- If serious personal or health reasons should prevent the Interpreter from fulfilling all or part of the contract, he/she must ensure to inform UK Legal Services Translation / National Translators Interpreters Services immediately and to suggest a qualified replacement on the same terms and conditions. UK Legal Services Translation / National Translators Interpreters Services reserves the right not to pay the Interpreter any fees in such cases.

UK Legal Services Translation / National Translators Interpreters Services also reserves the right to not pay and withhold any payment for any reason which falls in the Interpreter not abiding by the code of ethics and code of practice.


By accepting this booking, the interpreter all accepts that they cancel a booking within 1 full days working of the appointment date, they shall be liable to pay minimum 2 hours of booking fee up to full appointment expenses as directed by the booking client or higher authority.


Travel

The Interpreter is entitled to travel as agreed with UK Legal Services Translation / National Translators Interpreters Services prior to the appointment. He/she shall endeavour to use the most efficient route and time of travel. He/she will, however, only be refunded the costs for direct return travel between his/her domicile and the conference venue. The rates are at the discretion of UK Legal Services Translation / National Translators Interpreters Services.


Preparation

For the Interpreter's technical and terminological preparation, UK Legal Services Translation / National Translators Interpreters Services will ensure that the Interpreter receives a set of available materials in good time before the beginning of the conference/meeting: a full program, agenda, speeches, minutes of previous meetings, reports, etc. In the case of specialised meetings, briefing sessions may be arranged which shall be paid for.


Confidentiality

All knowledge and information provided by UK Legal Services Translation / National Translators Interpreters Services or Booking Client in writing is to be identified as confidential which Interpreter acquires during the term of this Agreement regarding the business and products of Client shall be maintained in confidentiality by Interpreter and, except as expressly authorised by UK Legal Services Translation / National Translators Interpreters Services or Booking Client in writing, shall not be divulged or published by Interpreter and shall not be authorised by Interpreter to be divulged or published by others.

Confidential information for purposes of this paragraph shall not include the following:

a. Information which is or becomes available to the general public, provided the disclosure of such information did not result from a breach by Interpreter of this paragraph.

b. Terminological glossary entries compiled by Interpreter in the course of Interpreter's performance of the interpretation service(s) under this Agreement.


Contact with Booking Clients

Interpreters will not contact Booking client or any other person related to the matter without the express permission of or instructed by UK Legal Services Translation / National Translators Interpreters Services.


Code of Ethics

Code of Practice

All interpreters should refer to and familiarise themselves with the Code of Practice, which can be found at http://www.uklst.com/interpreters-translators.


Dress code

All interpreters are requested to wear suitable smart clothing for all appointments. Ensuring that the clothing is suited to the venue of appointment.


Recordings

If recordings of the interpretation are required, the Interpreter will be asked for his/her consent.


Complaints

Any complaint in connection with interpreting work carried out shall be notified to the Interpreter by the Client (or vice-versa) not later than one month from the final day of an assignment. Should the Interpreter identify any issues while on the contract (i.e., extended times, unplanned expenses, etc.), these are to be addressed to UKLST and NOT the Booking Clients.


Quality of work

UK Legal Services Translation / National Translators Interpreters Services reserves the right to impose financial penalties should the quality of work be deemed unacceptable by the Booking Client or UK Legal Services Translation / National Translators Interpreters Services. Late arrivals, unprofessional behaviour or any other negative factors will be taken into account.


Governing law

This Agreement shall be governed by the law of England. If the interpreter is not satisfied with any points within this contract then they should notify UK Legal Services Translation / National Translators Interpreters Services in writing prior to the appointment, otherwise UK Legal Services Translation / National Translators Interpreters
